Coastal Cabins Glamping provides wooden cabin accommodation in ten architecturally designed octagonal wooden cabins: Welcombe Mouth, Barley Bay, Widemouth Bay, Speke’s Mill, Duck Pool, Sandy Mouth, Berry Bay, Shipload Bay, Blackpool Mill, Hartland Quay.
Each of our cabins are set in a private 3-acre field next to a fishing lake on the Hartland Peninsula. We are just over a mile from the North Devon Coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Easy Access Cabins
All of our cabins are on a flat site with gravel path access. Our car park is in an adjacent field with Hartland Quay (Couples Cabin) and Welcombe Mouth (Family Cabin) being closest to the car park and therefore the most accessible.
Other Cabins
All 10 cabins are the same in layout and size. Access to all is via a flat gravel path. There is a small step up to the decking in front of each cabin, however once inside the cabins there are no steps. If you are unsure about access then please do ask us to recommend which cabin would be best for your needs. You are welcome to request a specific cabin for your stay.
The Cabins Bedrooms/Living Areas
Each cabin has the same layout with all accommodation on the ground floor. There is a small step to enter the cabin over the threshold. Firstly, there is your living area where you will find a Kingsize bed, bunk beds (in our family cabins) or a sofa bed (in our couples cabins). All of our bedding does not contain feathers.
For further information and photographs of the inside of our cabins please click on this link to each cabin page https://www.coastal-cabins.com/cabin-living/.
Shower room
To one side of the cabin there is a neat shower room with sink and toilet. There is a constant supply of hot water and electricity. There are no steps: they are on the same level as the bedrooms. Our showers are corner showers with a curved base and there is a small step to enter the shower cubicle.
Kitchen
To the other side of the cabin there is also a kitchenette with electric hob, oven, sink, fridge and all cutlery and essential kitchen equipment.
External Areas
Each cabin has its own decked area with seating and a BBQ. There’s also plenty of space on the site, with over 3 acres of fields, a fishing lake and a nature path around the lake. The site is level throughout with either gravel or grass paths.
Electrics
All of our cabins have full electricity with a number of power sockets throughout. These are standard UK 3 pin sockets and can be used to power medical equipment, phone chargers etc.
There is excellent 4G mobile phone reception on site. There is no WIFI.
Lighting
All cabins have full electrical mains lighting. It is bright and safe. There are LED lights around the side of the cabin which can be used for night lighting and also bedside lights for reading. The shower rooms also have separate lights and extractor fans.
Each cabin has its own electric outside light to illuminate the private decking area. We also provide citronella candles for use outside to deter insects.
Animals
Coastal Cabins is not located on a farm, however we are neighboured by working farms. There will often be farm animals/farm vehicles in neighbouring fields. We also often get visits from wildlife on site such as ducks and geese on the lake, deer and rabbit in the field etc.
