We are very blessed to have a wide range of great beaches on our doorstep. Coastal Cabins is just 1.25 miles from the stunning North Devon Coastal Path which is perfect for miles of outstanding walks. However if you’re after a beach day then these are our top picks:
Hartland Quay – 2.5 miles away with parking and a pub on site.
Sandy Mouth – 15 min drive. National Trust run beach with cafe, parking and facilities.
Westward Ho! – 20 min drive. Family friendly village with large beach and many amenities.
Bude – 25 min drive. A selection of outstanding sandy beaches with all the facilities you could need.
Saunton/Croyde/Woolacoombe – 45min drive. A coastline with stunning popular beaches. Can get busy in holidays but lovely.
Just a few miles away you’ll find Hartland Village. With 3 pubs, a village shop, post office, pottery, coffee shop and various other arty shops it’s a lovely way to while away an afternoon. In the wider Hartland area you’ll also find must see places such as Hartland Abbey, Hartland Quay, Hartland Point Café, Docton Mill Gardens and more.
Completely car free, this quaint fishing village is a great place to visit. It’s stunning and very unique with cobbled streets and a traditional harbour. There are also a few pubs and tea rooms if you need a bite to eat.
Do what the locals do and pick up a surf board and ride the waves! Whilst in Devon it would be almost rude not to enjoy the local sport. Book a half day or a full day lesson at one of Devon or Cornwalls most beautiful beaches.
