Day 2 – Saturday
We have packed it in today! The girls slept so well last night. I was a bit worried we might be cold in the night as it is only March, but we didn’t even need the heating on!
After a little wander around the lake chatting to the resident geese we drove into Hartland village. It’s just 1.5 miles from the cabins and has some really good pubs and a local shop. We popped into the café on the square for coffee which was great!
Then just 5 mins in the car to Hartland Quay. I absolutely love it here The dramatic cliffs and crystal clear sea is just breathtaking. A quick splash in the sea (it’s surprisingly warm!) and then back in the car for 10 mins to one of my favourite pubs The Farmers Arms Woolsery for lunch.
We decided to head back to the cabins for a few hours in the afternoon to relax and enjoy the sunshine. It’s so peaceful on the cabin deck overlooking the lake. We took it in turns to wear out the girls by chasing them around the tennis court on their scooters and roller skates
The girls went for a sleepover at grandmas whilst we went to Westward Ho to meet friends for dinner. The Thai food Morans Restaurant & Bar is brilliant!
I’m so glad we made the last minute decision to come here for the weekend.
Come and see it for yourself!
